At Lou Lou Australia, we are passionate about creating luxuriously soft garments crafted from bamboo — one of nature’s most sustainable resources.

Our bamboo grows naturally without fertilisers, pesticides, or insecticides, and requires no irrigation — only rainfall. At harvest, the green shoots are cut and soaked to soften, before being processed in a closed-loop system where liquids are recycled and solvents are captured, keeping the process as eco-friendly as possible. The bamboo is then dehydrated, pulped, dried, and transformed into a feathery-soft fibre, which is spun into the yarn we use for our garments.

Although bamboo is not grown or processed at scale in Australia, our organically grown bamboo is farmed and ethically produced in China through a small family business we have partnered with for over 10 years. All design, pattern making, and sampling are proudly completed in Australia by our small, family-owned team.
